I just bought a TS-253 Pro. Installation was no problem. However, I am having trouble getting Music Station, Video Station and Plex to work correctly. ![Qnap photo station app mac download Qnap photo station app mac download](/uploads/1/2/6/8/126858307/358541593.jpg)
In Video Station, I am able to launch the app fine, and it sees the movies I copied over to the Multimedia folder on the NAS. Each of the video icons show a scene from the movie, so I know they are not just ghost files. However, when I try to click on a video to play it, nothing happens. If I click on Original File, the browser says it cannot find the file. If I click on one of the transcode options, I see the movie scene mentioned above, but it won't play anything further. The NAS does not appear to spin at all, so it's just not processing the file for some reason.
Finally, I tried Plex. I was able to get Plex to recognize the NAS, and start downloading the movie files located on the NAS. Again, it seems to be progressing fine. However, at some point, Plex just lost the connection with the NAS. I tried to reinstall Plex to see if that would help, but every time it loses the connection with the NAS if I try to do anything in Plex during/after the download process.
If this is useful, the NAS is connected to an Apple Airport Extreme router. I was able to transfer files directly from my mac to the NAS with no problems, so I don't think there's a problem with the connection. But perhaps there's a permissions issue I haven't thought of? I was also able to set up my iTunes server and my MAC can find and play the music files (same multimedia file as above) on the NAS with no problem.
